Forced to stay away from your loved ones.
Working non-stop from the sunrise to the sunset.
Having no sense of time.
Watching your steps.
Losing your freedom.
Lacking resources.
Not having enough food – not even toilet paper.
Being unemployed.
Fighting anxiety and stress.
Facing loneliness.
Isolating – not by choice, by order.
Questioning everything.
Missing everyone.
Craving a kiss.
Desiring a hug.
Wanting to go back home, not being able to do so.
Appreciating the simple things.
Fearing death.

COVID-19 brought more than a virus. It brought an experience. It let us feel, in a way, what illegal immigrants feel every single day.

  1. Damn. This one is deep. I really like the structure, the single lines evoke very powerful emotions and it builds very nicely. I especially like the ending. I really hope things change here in America, because the way things are going, people will still be living in fear.
